Philadelphia’s mayoral contenders, Cherelle Parker and David Oh, are gearing up for their sole pre-election debate ahead of the November general election. KYW Newsradio, in partnership with NBC10, will broadcast the live debate on October 26 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET during the “Philadelphia’s Morning News” program.

Kevin McCorry, News Director at KYW Newsradio, expressed the significance of this debate, highlighting the pressing issues facing the city, such as gun violence, opioids, the economy, and public education.

Listeners in the Philadelphia region can tune in on KYW Newsradio (103.9 FM and 1060 AM), while a national audience can follow the debate via the Audacy app and the KYW Newsradio website.

Cherelle Parker, 51, secured the Democratic primary victory in May, with a background that includes serving in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and Philadelphia City Council.

David Oh, 63, emerged unopposed as the Republican nominee in May and made history as the first Asian American elected to Philadelphia’s City Council.

This debate promises to be a pivotal event as the candidates vie for the city’s highest office.
