Two men from Philadelphia are now facing charges in connection with a carjacking incident in Sharon Hill. Marquese Alexander, 27, and Allon Ruffin, 26, seized the opportunity to steal a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu when the car’s owner briefly left it running outside a 7-Eleven on October 1. The victim, who held a valid license to carry and legally owned her handgun, saw the theft unfold, pursued her car, and discharged her firearm in an attempt to stop the thieves.
Thankfully, the victim has not been charged, as her actions were within the bounds of the law. The investigation remains ongoing. The stolen vehicle was recovered just 15 minutes later, several blocks from the scene. Through video surveillance, the suspects were identified and subsequently arrested on October 18, following unrelated charges in Philadelphia.
Both individuals now face charges including robbery with the intent to inflict serious bodily harm, robbery of a motor vehicle, carrying a firearm without a license, and related offenses. Bail for the accused has been denied.
