PHILADELPHIA WEATHER

Amid the ongoing conflict in Israel, Philadelphia-based organizations are stepping up to provide assistance.

Hillary Levine, the Associate Director of the American Jewish Committee in Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, has spearheaded an emergency fundraising campaign to aid Israel, ensuring that every dollar raised directly supports organizations on the ground.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is running a similar initiative, channeling 100% of funds raised to help immediate needs in the war-torn region. They also focus on assisting a region of Israel with strong ties to Philadelphia.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations Philadelphia chapter is mobilizing to provide aid to Gaza, rallying support and allies for this humanitarian cause.

In just 24 hours, the American Jewish Committee raised $1 million, with donations often coming in multiples of 18, a significant number in Jewish culture symbolizing “chai,” meaning life.

As the conflict persists, the need for aid remains critical, and these organizations are committed to supporting those affected while hoping for peace. They also encourage solidarity through social media to show support for Israel.
