Former President Jimmy Carter, President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and all five living first ladies paid tribute to the late Rosalynn Carter in Atlanta. Attended by dignitaries, the memorial at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church witnessed heartfelt eulogies from family members and former PBS NewsHour anchor Judy Woodruff.

Melania Trump and the other first ladies wore somber attire, with Carter positioned prominently in the front row, marking a rare gathering of all living first ladies since 2018. Former Presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama did not attend the tribute.

Rosalynn Carter, who passed away at 96 after battling dementia, will have a private funeral in Plains, Georgia, following the memorial. The Carters’ last public appearance was in September at the Plains Peanut Festival before Jimmy Carter turned 99 in October. He had chosen hospice care earlier in the year and plans to be buried beside his beloved wife.

The service celebrated Rosalynn Carter’s life and legacy, concluding with her return to Plains for a final farewell at Maranatha Baptist Church before her private interment at the Carter family residence.
