After a multi-vehicle crash, the eastbound lanes of the Schuylkill Expressway have swiftly reopened, ending a nearly five-hour shutdown.

All lanes were back in operation just before 11 p.m. on Sunday.

Video footage from a viewer captures the crash, which occurred in the eastbound lanes beyond Montgomery Drive in the Fairmount Park area of Philadelphia at approximately 6 p.m.

Pennsylvania State Police quickly responded to the scene, with troopers providing assistance to the injured individuals.

The extent of the injuries remains unknown at this time.

An ongoing investigation by troopers aims to determine the cause of the collision.
