A South Philadelphia family expressing support for Israel faced vandalism overnight. Larry Levin, who had an Israeli flag and a ‘Philly Supports Israel’ flyer on his front door, put up these signs in response to recent events involving Hamas attacks on Israel. Surveillance footage captured a person damaging the display and running away.
Larry Levin reported the incident to both the Philadelphia police and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). The ADL has noted a significant increase in reported antisemitic incidents nationally and regionally, particularly since October 7. They encourage people to report such incidents to track and address the issue.
The FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and National Counterterrorism Center have also expressed concerns about potential violence in the U.S. due to the Israel-Hamas conflict. The Levin family is contemplating how to display their flag in light of safety concerns but remains committed to standing against antisemitism.
