This Sunday, two esteemed members of the Greatest Generation will be celebrated as the Grand Marshals of the Philadelphia Veterans Parade.

Corporal Benjamin Berry, who recently turned 100, and Private First Class Jacob Ruser, nearing 99, shared their remarkable WWII experiences.

Berry, from Willow Grove, reflected on being drafted and serving in the segregated Quartermaster Corps, emphasizing the importance of discipline and duty. Ruser, a Conshohocken native, served as a combat medic and nurse, having vivid memories of D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge.

Both veterans fondly recall the joy of victory and their favorite moments from the past. They cherish connecting with young people who express gratitude for their service. Being Grand Marshals is an unexpected and cherished honor for them. Join in honoring these heroes and all our uniformed men and women at the Philadelphia Veterans Parade, live on 6abc at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, from Independence Mall.
